{parts of her}

What part of her do you see?
Do you close your eyes and see perfection?
Or eyes wide open –
See through her pain?
Does your mind cleverly bend her reality
Into a vision of majestic grace?
Or do you see the cracks of a broken girl?
Masquerading, one day at a time
Dreaming to smooth out the layers like a poetic potter.
Do you ever wonder about her?
What part of her do you see?
Are you blinded by the marked flesh
Or a sweet innocence – stained cherry lips?
Brave enough to stay?
Hero enough to gather the crumbled, broken pieces
And love her back together again?
What part of her do you see?

End Note: I am fine. Just felt some creative energy. So I created. We have all felt like this at some point in our lives though, I am sure of it. We wonder if we are seen for the broken, ripped open flesh from our trials in life or if someone can see underneath it all, to our authentic self. I urge you to look deeper. Don’t let the pain and battle wounds scare you away. People need wanted, trusted, accepted, motivated, championed, encouraged, and loved back together again. Be a hero. Love is the answer.

Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.
Ephesians 4:2

Now we who are strong ought to bear the weaknesses of those without strength and not just please ourselves. Each of us is to please his neighbor for his good, to his edification.
Romans 15:1-2
